Dr. Heather Maze Smith

Doctor of Audiology, Owner

Dr. Smith graduated with her Master’s degree from Ohio University in 1990. She later obtained a Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness in adults. Her private practice includes offices in Bellefontaine, Marysville and Urbana. Dr. Smith has successfully helped hundreds of individuals in the area to improve their quality of life by improving their hearing and relieving their tinnitus and dizziness. She is a Fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Lisa Khavaran

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Lisa Khavaran graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in speech and hearing science from The Ohio State University in 2010, and she graduated with her Doctorate of Audiology from Ball State University in 2014. She loves working with hearing-impaired adults through the fitting of hearing aids and works primarily in the Bellefontaine office. On the weekends she works in Columbus hospitals, where she performs hearing screenings on newborn babies. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Erin Tarney

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Tarney received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science from Ohio State University in 2010, and recently graduated with her Doctorate in Audiology from Ohio State University in 2014. She is passionate about working with individuals who have hearing loss through the fitting of hearing aids and aural rehabilitation. Dr. Tarney specializes in diagnostics for both adult and pediatric populations. She also enjoys working with patients who have tinnitus. Dr. Tarney works primarily in the Marysville office. She is a Fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Kristin Wilson

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Wilson received her clinical training and experience in a variety of settings including the Towson University Speech and Hearing Clinic, York County, PA, School District; ENTAA Care; and at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She worked for nearly nine years as a clinical audiologist and preceptor to audiology doctoral students, and she managed two office locations at Chesapeake Hearing Centers, an AudigyCertified™ private practice in Ocean City, MD.

Tiffanee Pulfer

Office Manager

Tiffanee works in both the Bellefontaine and Marysville offices and has worked in customer service and patient care for a number of years. She was born and raised in Bellefontaine and is married with two daughters. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and shopping. She is looking forward to meeting you and assisting you with all of your needs.

Sarah Shirk

Front Office Staff

Sarah joined the staff at Maze Hearing & Balance in August 2014 and works in our Bellefontaine office. She excels at making our patients feel welcome and comfortable over the phone and in person. She enjoys getting to know our patients on a personal level and is always ready to greet them with a smile!

Candy Frasure

Front Office Staff

Candy works as front office staff in the Marysville office. She was a preschool teaching assistant for 11 years with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities before joining Maze Hearing and Balance in July 2015. Candy and her husband Greg have three children: Jessica, Brandon, and Amanda, all of whom are currently attending college.

Mandy Oppy

Community Liaison/ Marketing Director

Mandy joined the Maze Hearing and Balance team as its community liaison/marketing director in June 2016 and brings a background in nursing, health care marketing, and assisted living management. Mandy enjoys helping others by educating and informing them about better health, and she is excited to continue to share with clients and the community all that Maze Hearing and Balance has to offer and what sets it apart.
